How your data is protected
Sharing is per Team, opt-in, and revocable. What revoking does and does not undo.
Updated Sep 3, 2026
Your health data is yours. Nothing is shared with a partner because you joined them. Sharing is a separate decision you make per Team, and you can change it whenever you want.
The Data sharing screen states it directly: "Choose what health data each App can access. App membership and data sharing are separate."
Your health profile says the same about what you type in. Its form reads: "Your data is encrypted, private, and always under your control — never used to train AI. You can review, edit, or delete it anytime."
To see or change what a Team can access:
Steps
- 1Open the Team.
- 2Select the three-dot menu and choose "Data sharing".
- 3Turn each category on or off, or narrow the level.
- 4Save.
All your sharing across Teams is also gathered in Settings, under Data sharing. That is where pending requests from a partner wait for you to accept or decline.
- Lab results are private by default and shared only with your explicit consent.
- A Team can only ask for the categories it has set up. Anything outside that is never offered to you.
- You can share nothing and still be a member of a Team.
- Leaving a Team revokes its connection.
Data shared with a Team is shared voluntarily by you, under the Terms of Service.
