Biomarker Gap Analysis
Identify missing biomarkers and recommend lab tests.
Goal
Detect biomarkers the user doesn't have recent results for and surface lab tests that cover those gaps.
Tool sequence
searchBiomarkers— what does the user have recently? Inspect names, dates collected.getLoincCodes()— full reference of standard biomarker codes- Identify gaps:
- No recent Vitamin D? → look up its LOINC slug
- No thyroid panel? → look up TSH/T3/T4 LOINC slugs
- No lipid panel? → look up HDL/LDL/triglycerides slugs
listAvailableLabTests(loincSlug)— find tests that include the missing markers- Present recommendations with test name, price, and full marker list
What "recent" means
Generally <90 days for trending biomarkers (lipids, hormones, inflammation). Wider for stable ones (e.g. genetic markers). The CLI's workflow next-actions command uses 90 days as the cutoff.
Filter helpers
| Goal | Filter |
|---|---|
| Out-of-range markers only | searchBiomarkers(range: "OUT_OF_RANGE") |
| Hormone results in 2026 | searchBiomarkers(categories: "HORMONAL", startDate: "2026-01-01") |
| Specific marker by code | searchBiomarkers(biomarkerLoincCode: "14635-7") |
Example synthesized output
You're missing recent results for Vitamin D, TSH, and HDL. The Comprehensive Wellness panel covers all three for $189 — would you like to order it?
